A domain, or domain name, is a unique address that allows people to find a website on the internet. Domains are typically alphanumeric codes in the format 'site.ru', where 'site' is the second-level domain, which you create yourself, and '.ru' is the domain zone.

Choosing a second-level domain means coming up with a unique name for your website that should be easy to remember and recognizable. The shorter it is, the better, as it will be easier to recall. That’s why abbreviations or shortened company names are often chosen for this purpose.

There are hundreds of domain zones—national, international, and thematic. Registering a domain in a national zone is suitable for organizations targeting regional or local market segments. An international zone is ideal for those with a wide audience not limited to a specific region or country. A thematic zone indicates the field of activity. For example, a '.shop' domain signifies that the website is an online store.

Registering a domain name cannot be free because domain registration involves expenses for the registrar, who acts as the service provider (in this case, us).

The cost of the service depends on the domain zone where the domain name is being registered. Note that there are two prices for registration: the first is for using the domain for one year, and the second is for extending its use for another year.
Dishonest providers often attract customers with low registration prices. They offer cheap domain registration but later significantly increase the renewal price, sometimes by 5 times or more.
